Esperanza renace es una novela de ficción histórica escrita por la escritora mexicoamericana Pam Muñoz Ryan y publicado por Scholastic Publishing el 27 de marzo, 2000.La novela se trata de Esperanza, hija única de padres mexicanos adinerados, y de los acontecimientos después del asesinato de su padre y la mudanza de su familia a California con su madre y los empleados domésticos durante la Gran Depresión. El libro recibió generalmente reacciones positivas de los críticos, a quienes les gustó la escritura de Muñoz Ryan y concluyeron que el libro era apropiado para discusiones en la escuela.

I found this a hard-hitting coming-of-age novel for Esperanza, a 13 year old Mexican child. It tells the story of her and her mother going from riches to rags after her father’s death, and having to face up to the poverty and migration as they move to California and is a powerful story which is great for improving Spanish.
